Over the past three decades, major food and agriculture corporations have been buying up small and medium-sized farms, to create a massive system of industrial animal production. Today’s factory farms are large industrial facilities called AFOs and CAFOs that have little to no regard or respect for animals, animal welfare, the environment, water quality, air quality, food safety, farm workers health, community and public health, nature and wildlife species, land preservation, and natural habitats.
